Last week a few of our preschool girls headed to the grocery store for a hands-on educational adventure. After cashing out their play money “savings,” they headed out to our neighborhood supermarket to purchase a few items from our weekly grocery list. It was a fun way to reinforce different concepts they are learning in class – from colors and numbers, to ingredients and meal planning.
Who knew that making the kids part of our weekly shopping could be such an educational, interactive experience! It is sure to have a lasting impression on the girls and is a field trip we will certainly be repeating.
What everyday tasks do you use to turn into a learning experience for your children? We’d love to hear your ideas!
