Yesterday, we turned one.
One year ago, we opened our doors to our very first children.
Sometimes it feels like yesterday. And sometimes it feels like an eternity ago that we were sitting on the freshly tiled floor, eagerly waiting for our first four kids to arrive. In that moment, we knew that this was just the beginning. The beginning of something extraordinary.
And oh, what a year it has been. It has been of a year full of hard work, sleepless nights, and feeling overwhelmed. But also a year of finding endless joy in the faces of our little ones. A year of learning so much more about the love of Jesus through the lives of our children.
We have laughed and danced and played.
We have seen God transform broken, fearful hearts into confident, trusting children.
We have felt the heartbreak of seeing children go. We have felt the joy in opening our arms to others.
We have learned A LOT. About love. About faith. About trust.
And as we went along, this place slowly became a kind of home. A refuge to the children who need it most. It has been hard, but beautiful. We have loved deep and felt deeply loved. And through the good times and bad times, through the joy and the pain, God has held our hand as we traveled along on this journey of faith.
We are continually blown away knowing that He orchestrated ALL of this. And then chose to place US in the midst of it.
We are thankful. BEYOND thankful.
And we have to say… it is crazy awesome to look back at the past year and all that has happened. As we remember and reminisce, as we celebrate and commemorate, one thing stands clear: God is faithful.
Bring on Year Two.
In one year we have been able to give life-changing assistance to 14 children. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate this occasion than by working toward helping even more! In order to do that, we need to increase our funding. Join us in celebrating our first birthday by sponsoring a child!
