Wow. God gave US his very own Son. What a gift. And what a beautiful season we are in, in which we can take a moment to reflect on the wonder of the birth of Jesus – God’s greatest gift to mankind.
With Christmas just one week away, the reality that the new year is just around the corner is hitting us full force. And boy, does Roots & Wings have BIG plans for January! Phase one of construction should be completed next month. Then, oh so soon, Roots & Wings will be opening!! The first children to be accepted have been carefully, prayerfully selected. We are preparing ourselves for our roles as cooks, cleaning ladies, teachers, disciplinarians, diaper changers, role models, tutors and more.
But we are not ready just yet.
There are still many, many items needed to furnish the daycare. From crayons to a kitchen sink, the list of things needed to set up, supply and prepare the daycare for opening day is quite lengthy. But we have full faith that together we can make it happen! Hop on over to the “Furnish A Room” page to check out our Wish List and consider donating toward an item or two.
Secondly, one of our greatest needs for the coming new year is committed monthly supporters. Food, water, electricity and gas are just some of the recurring expenses that are necessary for the operation of the daycare. (We won’t even get into the number of diapers we’ll go through!) So we are in urgent need of consistent support coming in each month. Whether you can commit to $5 a month or $50, each dollar helps cover these costs. So please consider becoming a monthly sponsor. Because when you commit to giving to Roots & Wings each month, you become a determining factor in how many children Roots & Wings is able to care for.
In order to promote this need, we are in the middle of a “12 Days of Christmas Challenge!” Like our Facebook page and follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss a single day. Then, prayerfully consider participating by signing up for a monthly sponsorship. Finally, share about your commitment on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and any other social media sites you may use.
