F O U R. Crazy, right?
We were sitting at the Looney Bean last week, sipping on coffee and staring at the ocean, and experienced serious moment of déjà vu. For a second, it was like we had just arrived in Mazatlan with four suitcases and a dream.
But a lot has happened since then.
I look at this random still screen from the video and see Daniela, the very first child we met in the garbage dump. Then – a sickly, neglected baby girl. Now – a bright, confident scholarship student.
I see her sister Kena, and Christian, Alexis, Brittany… children that have been a part of Roots & Wings’ family for years. Children whose lives have changed because God opened the door for us to help them and give them a place of love and security.
Each one of them has such a beautiful story of restoration and grace, and all we can say is how humbled we are that God has continued to allow us to serve them and their families for one more year.
We don’t have much else to say besides we know we would not be here today if it weren’t by God’s grace. His hand has been behind Roots & Wings from day one and our constant prayer is that He continues to guide and light the way for Roots & Wings each and every day.
We hope you enjoy this recap of our celebration. A special thanks goes out to Mi Pequeño Mundo for hosting us for the second year in a row. And thank you to every one of you who has supported us on this journey of empowering children and strengthening families!
