A Grandmother's Voice Brings A Little One Home
Restoration rarely happens all at once. More often, it begins with one brave step, taken in faith, and supported by a community willing to walk the road together.
Our newest little one is six years old. Until recently, he was living in a children’s shelter in another city, safe from the trauma that had been his recent reality, yet far from the stability and belonging every child needs. This month, he was able to leave that institution and be restored to family. He is now living in the care of his maternal grandmother.
This step was not small, and it was not easy. His grandmother opened her home knowing the road ahead will be challenging, not only for her and her grandson, but also for her husband and their young son. She did so trusting in the strength she and her husband now have in Christ, and because they know they are not walking this journey alone.
The consistent support, guidance, and structure provided through this Roots & Wings also played a key role in helping her meet the requirements necessary to qualify for custody, giving the authorities confidence that this child would be entering a stable, supported home.
Through the support of this ministry, our newest little one now has access to the care, education, therapy, and ongoing support that Roots & Wings provides to the families God brings into our program.
Why It Matters
We know there will be hard days. Trauma does not disappear simply because a child now has a home. But we also know how essential it is for a child to grow up in a stable, loving family environment.
So we will walk alongside this family.
And when the weight becomes too heavy, we will carry some of that burden so that they do not fold under the pressure, giving them the support they need to grow stronger. Because the work of family restoration is not just a moment, but a season of life walked together.
Please pray for this family as they navigate their new reality. Pray for patience, unity, and strength in the difficult moments, and that their home would be a place of stability, growth, and Christ-centered love.
